Scout Camp

So Eric and Navitt went to scout camp from July 21- 26. I think they had fun. Navitt earned his First Aid, Row Boating, Rifle, & Wilderness Survivle badges. He also earned half of his swimming merit badge. I think he did pretty good for his first year at camp. Eric enjoys being a leader for the scouts and loves going to scout camp. He has been invovled in the scouting program for about 10 years now. The rest of the kids and myself went down to my moms for one day, went to Courtneys to celebrate pioneer day, and just had fun.

I also got my first case of mestitas(breast infection) that is not fun. I have to take antibiotics for it. The doctor says it is a sign that I am doing too much, but with six kids it is hard to rest.

Well I will have to add the pictures later, I don't have them down loaded yet.

New Cat

So our family has added a new member to it. We got a cat, he is about 16 months old and a very good cat. We have named him Tiger. It is Maheone's cat, but she has to let everyone play with him. He is a very laid back cat. The kids have not put him down very much since we got him. The dog is not sure what to think of our new family member. At first she was scared of the cat but I think she is finally getting used to the cat. Boeing loves to lick the cats ears for some reason. I think one day they will be good friends.

Family Pictures

My family went down to Provo to take family pictures. The tension was pretty high with every one yelling at each other and the kids getting tired. It was good to get an updated photo of the family. It is strange to think that we are down to 5 siblings. Everyone was there except Jeff & Syd & their kids, but we are not even sure where they are at this time. The place we went was very beautiful, it is an old building which looks like a castle. We then went to moms house for dinner. It was a fun day.

Summer

We came home the other night and found this raccoon in our backyard tree. Boeing had chased it up there and was standing guard.

Well this summer has been pretty crazy. We went camping with my family for a weekend down by Utah lake, it was a blast. It was Courtney, Greg, & kids, Chris, Brook, & Riley, Eric, myself, and the kids. We went swimming in the lake, we fished, rode a 4 wheeler, and had fun. The kids loved it.

Mokesaut finally got his cast off and 2 days later he was in the hospital with pneumonia he was there from Friday until Sunday. It was hard watching him on oxygen seeing how sick he was. I stayed the first night with him and Eric stayed the second. When we got home on Sunday Nika was running a high fever, so I took her to the doctor on Monday and she also had pneumonia. She was breathing o.k. so we were able to treat her at home.


For the fourth of July we went to a parade with the kids. It was a great parade. We then had Eric's family over for the rest of the day. We played games and just had a good time being together. We went down to the elementary to play basketball and when we came home half of our tree had blown over. We did fireworks that night.


We have also gone swimming at the pool and over to the duck park to feed the ducks. We also like to go to the library to get some books. It has been a pretty good summer so far.

Scout Backpack Trip

Eric took the scouts on a backpack trip up Adams Canyon. He said it was really hard for some of the boys. They were gone 2 nights. The boys were tired and sore on Sunday after getting back and most of them did not think that it was fun. It was a very tough hike for them. Eric was pretty sore when he got home. The went on June 12 and cam home on the 14.

Long Family Parties

My family has a birthday dinner and party for each month. It is pretty fun, we all meet at moms and eat dinner, hang out, and eat cake. The kids love to play with their cousins. I love being close to family and being able to see them all the time. I am so thankful for my family. My sister Courtney is my best friend and I will be sad when she moves to Henderson Nevada. Her husband Greg got a conditional offer to be a police officer down there. He won't leave until winter of 2009. It is good for them but I will be sad.

Lagoon

We took the kids to Lagoon and spent the day on rides and having fun. The kids are getting old enough that they want to choose what rides they go on. We took Moienah on her first two rides. One was a kid tidal wave (I can't remember the name) and the other was the log ride. She liked it until she was splashed with the cold water. We went on rattlesnake rapids towards late afternoon and the kids got soaked. They were freezing, so after a few more rides we went home. We got home around 10:30 that night.
Lagoon is getting so expensive these days. The kids love it though and it is fun to see the joy on their faces.
